Little Purse

Needed: a little bit of DK wool or yarn for the purse and for the
border, knitting needles 4 mm (UK8), sewing needle for wool, a
button, crochet hook 4 mm
Start
Cast on 15 stitches
Knit 50 rows (this shows 25 ridges)
To make the flap
Knit the first 2 stitches of every row together until 1 stitch is
left.
Cut the wool, leaving aprox. a 5 cm tail and pull the yarn through
the last stitch (photo 1).
Finishing
Fold the knitting double leaving the flap up (photo 2).
Now crochet a border for joining and decoration:
Start with one side (join both layers, (photo 3),
then the flap (and form the button loop in the middle of the flap at
'the 'point' of it - see (photo 4),
followed by the second and last side (photo 5).

Border: Push the hook through both layers and pull the wool back
through these layers, make a chain of 2 stitches over the sides.
Buttonhole: Make a chain of 10 stitches. Close the chain in the
first of the 10 chains.
Weave in all ends of loose yarn and cut off any tails (photo 6).
Sew a button on the purse (photo 7).
Congratulations, you now have a great little purse knitted all by
yourself!
